Dane County’s Response to the Climate Crisis: The Art of the Possible

Speaker:  Joe Parisi, Former Dane County Executive

The climate crisis is the ultimate bad news/good news scenario. The bad news is obvious – our planet is literally on fire and underwater due to the impacts of climate change, and our children face a potentially terrifying future if we don’t fix this now. The good news is we know how to fix it. It’s estimated that current technology and know-how can provide 75-85% of the solution. The rest will depend on innovation and research currently underway. But the solutions are not going to implement themselves; that’s on us. This talk will take you through Dane County government’s journey to becoming one of the most sustainably run government organizations in the nation, and what others can learn from their journey.
