Maximizing Co-Benefits of a Clean Energy Transition

Speaker:  Denise Mauzerall

What are the opportunities to reduce emissions of air pollutants and greenhouse gases in China and other countries? Mauzerall will share recent research in her group on this topic, and examine the supply and demand sides of the residential, transport, power, industrial and agricultural sectors, and seek synergies between sectors to enhance reductions. Maurzerall et al. quantify the co-benefits of these reductions for air quality, public health, greenhouse gas mitigation, and food security. This work seeks to inform decarbonization policy and involves rigorous technical analyses of mitigation strategies including energy, air pollution, health and economic modeling.
